Hi! My name is Tim Nwachukwu (wah-choo-koo), and I am an independent Washington, DC-based photographer covering sports, news, and travel assignments.

Old family stories makes our village in Nigeria (shoutout to Ogba–Egbema–Ndoni) feel like the next county over instead of half a world away. Being reared in the collegiate sports-crazed city of Louisville, Kentucky first peaked my curiosity about the elements that connect and sometimes define us as people. Studying photojournalism at the University of Missouri constantly reminded me that the joy for learning and openness to new people or ideas yield some of life's greatest gifts.

I am fascinated by the ways we leave our footprint and I appreciate the opportunity to immerse in different cultures. My goal is to show what makes our existences relatable yet unique. No assignment is too big or small, nor is any day too long in my book. I love to learn everywhere I go and am available wherever needed.

Photographs serve as some of the strongest fibers that bond us. They preserve history, cultivate communities and open a vast door to those who previously could only dream. I hope that we can collaborate to show the depths of our world.
